We all feel it. When we wake up in the morning. When the hours stand on end at work. When the outside world peers back at us through social media news feeds. It is the yawning abyss — the quiet, subtle buzz of anxiety that comes with living in the modern world. The fact that, sooner or later, all of this will end whether we like it or not.
And yet, this experience is all we have. Our gods, our villains, our myths, our mundane chores... they all go to the razor's edge of understanding, but no further. So how do we navigate this experiece we have been given? This irreconcilable question became the cornerstone of Petaluma's debut record.
Petaluma was founded by multi-instrumentalists Rob Habel and Patrick Sweeney. Their debut album of the same name spawned from a place of sonic exploration that results in an altogether eclectic sound. Dark, ambient, and oddly calming, Petaluma's music is as impossible to resist as it is to pin down.
